Couldn't ask for a better place to have our 11 year old BMW Z-3 Repaired. We've been to many claimed to be BMW shops over the 11 years including the dealer and had to go back because the same issues would come up. Once before we even got the car home after an expensive repair. Not with Haik's German Autohaus, Haik the owner and Kurt the mechanic. First time in, found by luck. Fair estimate for diagnosis. Called later that day with new fair estimate for actual repair. All repairs completed including convertible roof and sub-woofer speaker which previous shops wouldn't touch. Several follow up calls while car was being repaired keeping us updated on status. Car runs like new. All my wife does is smile now and drive top down. You won't be disappointed.

I've been taking my Mercedes for maintenance and repairs to Haik's for three years--since the warranty expired. It's cheaper than the Mercedes dealer. They've always done the work promptly and never gone over the estimated price. In fact, yesterday I took my car in for diagnostics. Haik said it would be $130 for the labor, but when I picked up the car he said that since I was a good customer, he wouldn't charge me. He even checked the air pressure of the tires, without being asked. He and Kurt are always going the extra mile in customer service. I highly recommend Haik's!

First of all, I shouldn't even own a BMW. They are expensive to repair and my back aches from the hard German seats if I go on a long trip. Haik's shop looks very organized, like a car hospital should; and the mechanics were very doctor-like. I went in for normal servicing at about 40,000 miles and they were able to find all kinds of things my car needed. I left feeling that my car had been well-serviced. But it was over $4,000 and now I have a squeek and I'm scared to take it back because it'll probably cost a lot. Like I said, I shouldn't even own a BMW. I'm going to look around to see if I can find lesser-priced BMW repair shop. But with all due respect, these guys seem to know what they're doing; I just can't afford them.

Bought a pre-owned 2005 Audi Allroad 4.2 and had an issue with the front air suspension dropping while parked. Took it to Haik's and they estimated 1.5 hrs labor and $195 cost ($130/hr) to inspect and find the issue. The staff spent plenty of time answering my questions and I was asked several questions regarding the issue prior to the start of the inspection to help expedite the troubleshooting process. This was very appreciated and effective since the inspection took less time than anticipated and I was only charged $65. The diagnosis resulted in a recommendation to replace both front suspension airbags which I decided to proceed with at a cost of $1614+tax. I scheduled an appointment for the following week and dropped off the car in the morning and the car was ready for pick up later that afternoon as agreed with the repair complete. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 stars is because this is only my first experience with Haik's repair services and I reserve a 5 star rating for repeated excellent performance.

I had been having problems with my Jetta for six months as the result of a stubborn check engine light. After spending over $3000 at the local VW dealership, over the course of eight different visits, the problem persisted with no solution. Haik listened to my concerns and thoroughly tested various components to identify the source of the problem. He kept my car for about a week, drove it every day and committed three times the amount of hours to diagnosis than he charged me for. Finding a number of problems the dealership had overlooked, he was able to fix the problem at a fair price. After six months of runaround from the dealership this was no small feat. Haik is passionate, personable, and he and Curt are thorough and meticulous. I highly recommend Haik's shop for fair, honest, quality service.

I have been taking my 2002 Audi All-Road to Haik's since early 2010, following repeated dissatisfaction with SBAG, and after getting several recommendations from neighbors for this repair shop. Haik and Kurt have done excellent work at reasonable prices. I plan to continue to take my car to Haik's.

I live in SB and was used to driving all the way to Thousand Oaks to have any service done on my Mine Cooper. I am so happy that I found Haik Motors. I recently had a full service with some sensor troubleshooting work done. The shop itself is very clean and Curt and Haik were both professional and friendly. We sat together in the office and they went through everything with me taking time to explain all that was needed and how much the costs would be if required.etc. They kept me posted as to progress and my car was ready when they said it would be. Very nice. Highly recommend.

Haik and Kurt are the best. I had something going on with my BMW. The dealership gave me an estimate for $4000. to get it fixed, including the kitchen sink. Haik and Kurt told me what needing fixing now, and what did not. My estimate went to $700. They did the work in a timely manner, as I had requested, and I am very happy. I also want to say that on occasion, I have stopped there for quick fix items, like a lightbulb, and they did it right there on the spot. The service here is what you have been looking for, as well as the trust level.

I've now taken my car to Haik's multiple times and I am continually impressed with the level of detail and thoroughness that Kurt and Haik demonstrate. My car is a 2001 with close to 140,000 miles on it--needless to say there are countless things that could be fixed. However, Haik was able to help me understand and prioritize any of the issues that needed addressing. The work is top-notch and the customer service experience is unmatched when it comes to my own experience with auto shops. I've lived in a few states over the last decade with this car and Haik's is certainly a cut above the rest in terms of my overall experience. As long as I am in SB, my car is going here.

I have never had service that has compelled me to get on the computer and yelp about it before but this place proved to truly be an auto-body shop that is there to genuinely help you- not rip you off. I had someone draw a line in thick black sharpie down the entire side of my audi, needless to say it ruined my day and I was crushed. I went straight from the scene of the crime to Haik's an auto body shop which I'd used before for minor repairs and maintenance and always had a good experience with. The owner could tell how disgruntled I was about the vandalism, went to the back grabbed some solution and helped me get the entire thing off. When it came time to pay he wouldn't accept payment, not even a lunch, he said something along the lines of, "I know what it's like, just do something good for someone else" and off I went.

I took my car into Haik's for a dealer-scheduled service far beyond the recommended inspection date. They managed to give me a detailed breakdown of every problem lurking under the hood, and I'm grateful to Haik and his remarkable assistant for doubtlessly extending the life of my automobile. There's no better mechanic I know. Haik's strict attention to detail and lifetime of experience make him the most trustworthy professional I've yet met in Santa Barbara... I almost wish he was my dentist.

Haik and Kurt are honest and helpful. You can trust your vehicle to them for repairs -- I've been using them for 2.5 years for all sorts of things. They did recommend a repair once that I found out from a friend (who owns his own repair shop in another city) is totally unnecessary, but I chalk it up to difference of opinion...all in all, Kurt REALLY knows his stuff.

My boyfriend and I purchased a used VW New Beetle, because I thought it was "adorable" and had always wanted one. We thought we were getting a good deal and buying through a reputable dealer, sadly, we were mistaken. :( We brought the "adorable" little Beetle into Haik's German Autohaus to assess all of the issues. Haik and Kurt could not have been more helpful, and honest with us. They told us what we needed to fix immediately and what we could wait on. They always try their best to keep costs down as much as possible but are not willing to cut any corners, which is so appreciated. They are super friendly, and have a way of making you feel like although yeah, you've got car issues, you are not in it alone, and for a midwestern girl like myself, this is very important! I would highly recommend Haik's German Autohaus, and will never take my Beetle anywhere else as long as I am in Santa Barbara. After my second "visit" to the shop, Haik thanked me for managing to "keep a smile on my face"... Although I can see how some people may be grumpy after paying for auto repairs, and it certainly doesn't make me wanna dance, it is truly hard NOT to smile at someone who takes so much pride in their work! Thanks, Haik and Kurt! :D

I found Haik by accident, I was stranded in Santa Barbara with my 1981 Mercedes and I stumbled upon his shop. Haik and Kurt came to my rescue in a big way. They did amazing work, gave great advice, and got me back on the road quick. When I got home to SF, my usual mechanic was extremely impressed with their work. He sends his SoCal family members there. Now I schedule ALL of my mechanical work with them and make a special trip down to SB so I can have my beloved old benz taken care of the right way. They do great work, are very thorough and offer creative solutions. Plus... They're great people. Very nice. If you have a German car, go see these guys! You won't be sorry.
